Conor McGregor is being very respectful towards Donald Cerrone ahead of their highly anticipated welterweight bout at UFC 245, which is set to be one of the biggest pay-per-view events of the new year.
McGregor will return to the Octagon after one-year layoff, having not fought since his fourth-round submission loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229. Cerrone, on the other hand, will look to spring back into the winners column after suffering back-to-back stoppage losses to Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje, losing to the latter via first-round TKO at UFC Fight Night 158.
Cerrone took to Instagram earlier this week to hype the upcoming bout, and McGregor showed nothing but respect for Cowboy in the comments, wishing the UFC veteran a merry Christmas and a happy new year. UFC 246, which is expected to feature McGregor vs. Cerrone as the main event, will take place next month, Jan. 18 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
